MS Walk 2024 - My 3rd Year

The MS Walk is just around the corner, and I am once again starting up my fundraising initiatives. Mark your calendar! The MS Walk is scheduled on Sunday May 26, 2024.

My first ever MS Walk in 2022 was virtual, courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic. I decided to run a 10K for the event. This has become something of a tradition. Even though the MS Walk event returned in-person last year, I opted to run a 10K on the day prior. I will once again be running a 10K on Saturday May 25th on the Thornton-Cookstown section of the Trans-Canada Trail as part of my MS Walk fundraising drive, in addition to participating in the 5K walk.

I would love to have you join me for the MS Walk. How can you participate?

  1. You can donate here: https://msspwalk.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=41037

  2. You can join my team here: https://msspwalk.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=11639

  3. You can join me on May 25th to run (I will start from Meadowland Blvd in Thornton at 9:00am and run South for an out and back 10K)

  4. You can join me for the walk at 11:00am on May 26th (at Heritage Park, 5 Simcoe Street, Barrie, ON)

  5. You can run or walk from anywhere in the world on May 26th in support of MS Canada.

I am truly humbled that the MS Life Among the Clouds team has raised over $12,000 over the past two years. You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved and supported!

I know that we can once again crush our goal of raising $5,000 for MS Canada this year. When you make a donation to my fundraising, you are helping to support the world’s leading researchers discover the cause, treatments, and cure for MS, and funding support programs to improve the quality of life for people affected by MS. Thank you in advance for your generous support.

As a new initiative this year, I have added donor incentives to my fundraising efforts:

  1. Set My Playlist! If you donate $25 or more, you gain the right to add a song to my running playlist. I have a sinking feeling that my brother will have me running to Colter Wall, while others will have Baby Shark playing on loop. To qualify, make a donation of at least $25 (make sure that I can see your donor identity, even if not listing it publicly), and either include your song selection in your 'words of encouragement' to me on the donation page, or email me at mslifeamongtheclouds@gmail.com with your song selection. The song must be available via Apple Music. If song requests exceed the length of time that it takes me to run a 10K, I will use them during training runs. Have fun with this... but not too much fun!

  2. MS Awareness Pins: If you donate $50 or more, you also qualify to receive an MS Awareness Pin. To qualify, make a donation of at least $50 (make sure that I can see your donor identity, even if not listing it publicly), and shoot me an email at mslifeamongtheclouds@gmail.com with your preferred mailing address. Limit: I only have 50 of these pins, so they will go to the first 50 donors to claim them. Yes, you can also submit your song selection for donating more than $25.

The orange ribbon is the international symbol of MS awareness, and the butterfly represents the shape commonly seen on an MRI scan of the brain.

Donations to other members of my team also qualify for these donor incentives. However, I am not notified of donations to other members of the team, so be sure to send me an email to prompt me.

MS Canada has made it easier than ever to request that your company match your donation. When you submit your donation, search for your company under “Corporate Giving”. If your company is listed, they have a corporate matching policy in place. This is a great way to maximize your donation.

If you have any questions about the MS Walk, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I hope that you can join us either in person or from afar in raising MS awareness!
